My Plan

Suffolk is a wonderful place to live, but we do face some challenges. As your MP and voice in Westminster, I will:

  1. Support our pensioners and invest our local NHS services - I support the Triple Lock and the increase to the tax free pension allowance. We have also delivered £70 million in increased funding for local NHS services, including a £25 million investment in Ipswich Hospital's A&E. But we can do more, and I will push for more funding to expand local GP surgeries and increase the availability of dentistry.
  2. Empower the police to tackle crime - Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner Tim Passmore has helped keep Suffolk crime rates low with a record number of police on the streets. But we can do more, and I will argue for a fairer funding settlement for the Suffolk Constabulary. This will boost police numbers and mean more police free from desk admin and able to tackle crime.
  3. Support our young people to get the best start in life - As a Father of two young sons, I want young people in Suffolk to get access to a great education. I will work with Suffolk County Council to get a better funding deal from the Department for Education, and make sure we invest in our SEND offer. I also want children in Suffolk to benefit from more time outside, more exercise and more extracurricular activities.
  4. Protect our countryside from the blight of unnecessary developments - Growing up in Suffolk, I realised we live in the beautiful part of the country. I do not want to destroy our beautiful countryside for the next generation. I oppose the Norwich to Tilbury pylon route, and I will make sure residents have a voice when it comes to other developments that blight our countryside.
  5. Work with councillors and the Environment Agency to protect residents from the impact of severe flooding - We were all impacted by severe floods in 2023. Many people were left stranded, unable to do the daily shop or attend important appointments with the doctor. I will work with the Environment Agency and Suffolk County Council to do everything to minimise the effects of heavy rain and flooding.
  6. Championing businesses in Suffolk to thrive - From Needham Market to Wickham Market, Framlingham, Debenham and Ipswich... business plays a huge role in our daily lives, in our community and is part of Suffolk's identity. Our market towns are thriving hubs of small business and our farms export products across the world. I will do everything to support businesses of all shapes and sizes by arguing for less inhibitive regulations, lower taxes and keeping costs low.
